Quotes from Literature~ The Ramayana
"A river or a hill, a tree or a cloud, indeed any object of beauty may raise one to contemplation of the Supreme Being and silent worship of Him. In particular sacred rivers, temples or images, which for generations have been objects of devotion and worship possess this power in a special degree, in virtue the sacred thoughts they have witnessed and absorbed as garments retain perfumes."

The Forbidden Fruit~ An Apple?
Note: The artist for this beautiful image is unknown to me |
"And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat." ~ Genesis 3:6
Hello all! As far as my creative endeavours go, this has been an intense period of creation for me and I am so grateful for that. It came through to me in a recent meditation that I should be creating art. So, I have been following that guidance, in addition to writing, and sync moments have been confirming that I am on the right path. I have loved art for a long time, and a recent move connected me with much of my art from the past, so I am happy that I have once again begun to play with different mediums in the present.
With that said, today as I research and write, I find myself once again within the lush Garden of Eden. Since being consciously aware of this myth, I have paired the fruit on the tree of knowledge of good and evil with an apple. Yet, after reading Genesis and looking into the symbol of an apple, I uncovered that the fruit on the tree of knowledge of good and evil is in fact unnamed when you consult the bible. Instead, the pairing of the tree with the apple is part of Christian iconography imposed on the myth by the church (the first book in a non-fictional trilogy that I am writing examines this whole idea and symbol much further).
In Genesis the serpent informs Eve that if she partakes in eating from the tree, that in fact it will turn her into a god. So, when Eve and then subsequently Adam eat from the tree, are we to now assume that they are banished from the Garden of Eden as Gods? For eating of the fruit will lead to immortality, according to the serpent...Gods are creators. The bible also states that we are made in his image, again a reference to humans god-like powers. Therefore, for me, I am going to follow this guidance that I am receiving from one of the most sacred of text, assume that I have incarnated as a goddess, and continue to create.

Quotes from Literature~ The Ramayana
This snippet of Sacred Hindu poem is from Canto IV in Book I~
"When to the end the tale was brought,
Rose in the sage's mind the thought;
Now who throughout this earth will go,
And tell it forth that all may know?"

And tell it forth that all may know?"

Quotes from Literature~ Harry Potter and the Philospher's Stone
"Curious indeed how these things happen. The wand chooses the wizard, remember.... I think we must expect great things from you Mr. Potter.... After all, He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named did great things- terrible, yes, but great."

Searching for the sun, I am
The son of God
The sun of man
Round a wheel
He cycles through
Marking seasons
As times renew
A cosmic traveller
The light of Man
Searching for the sun, I am
December 21st he's born anew
March 21 he finds balance and dew
The Ram springs forth with his selfish ways
Marching up the hill towards his glory day
But, with every high you have a low
Down into the Underworld
He falls below
Above tis a time
To rest and stay in
Also known as Hel
During other ages of Man
In those days
The goddess played a role
The days of matriarchy
In times of old
When Gods and Goddesses
Shared powers of creation
Not only one man
Served as the Savior,
And salvation...
Does he have a partner in sight?
In fact he does,
She shines at night
This lifetime
My tribe, worships thee
Yet, in my search I came to see
Perhaps, Akenahten planted the seed?
The tribe is worried
And fear runs wild
There is much to learn
This is a time to discern
Most know very little;
They block out truth
Light evades them, the dark enslaves them
Yet the Water Bearer is here!
To release them from fear...
Afraid of knowledge and divination
Many truths pushed aside
For even Saul sought Endor's counsel in disguise
Herbal knowledge represents the wise
The herd is asleep
Living their daily lives as sheep
Asleep and unaware
Pushing truth away
Too much to bear
The Archangel of the Sun knew this all was bothering me
I kept asking myself 'why are so many sheep asleep?'
He arrived from my right
I saw truth in the light
He said: "The sleeping sheep are serving their use
Not ALL are meant to awaken to truth
So just let the sleeping sheep run along
While you continue to create
Always remember it's okay to sing your own song"

Welcome to JYN Star's Poetry Blog
The Greek Muses |
Yesterday, the idea came to start a poetry blog, which may morph into an art blog...we shall see! The sync experience for beginning this blog was the fact that I remembered hearing Neil Gaiman discuss his writing (on the Nerdist podcast), and how the internet actually helped him to spread his work. He stated that most good books, are often shared, and read for free, so there really is no harm in sharing your work on-line, because it is spreading your art. In fact, I am currently reading the trade paperback of Sandman Volume #3 Dream Country, which features the Muse Caliope in a most disturbing way (we all must face the shadow). So, with her on my brain, I begin this new artistic endeavour.
I have decided to start posting my poetry.
I have always loved writing poems. It has been an on-going hobby of mine for quite sometime. And, as I have been working on my fictional and non-fictional trilogies, poetry, has been really come through me, making this a great place to share! Hence, the birth of my brand new poetry blog...where I also plan to share other forms of art that inspires me...
Ask and you shall recieve.
Always remember to Dream, Love, Believe... ~JYN
